COMPUTERS
The library has three public access computers available. You may also use your own computer in the library. Please note the Policy on Internet/Computer Use that follows.

MOVIE POLICY
Patrons must be at least ten years old and in good standing-meaning all materials are returned in good time and in good condition, and there are no outstanding fines, etc.

Patrons may check out up to two movies at a time (this does not count toward the six item book/magazine/audio book limit).

Movies are due back four days after checkout day, and are renewable for another four day period by phone.

Movies must be returned to the desk during open hours. There will be a $1.00 fine for each movie placed in the book drop.

A fine of $1.00 will be charged for each movie, for each day it is overdue.

PATRON POLICY
Residents of the towns of Hedrick and Martinsburg, as well as other Keokuk County residents, and those of northern Wapello County are eligible for a library card without charge.

Children under the age of 14 must have their registration cards signed by a parent or guardian.

Borrowers with unpaid fines or lost books are considered "not in good standing" and are not eligible to use the services of the library. A probation period is at the librarian's discretion.

Disruptive or unruly patrons may be asked to leave the premises for a specified period of time, or they may lose certian library privileges. If the patron is a minor, a parent or guardian will be notified of the disciplinary action.

The library does not encourage unattended young children. Preschool children are expected to be accompanied and supervised by a responsible person. Older unattended children who are disruptive will be dealt with according to the library's stated policy.

Due to the quiet nature of the library, all cell phone use must be outside of the library.

INTERNET/COMPUTER USE POLICY
Any patron 16 years old or older, in good standing with the library, may log on the Internet with the librarian's supervision and assistance.

The computers are available for public use during open hours, except on Tuesdays. Patrons can sign up for a 30 minute block of time, and if the computer is not being used, may use the computer. After 30 minutes, if no one is waiting to use the computer, a second block of 30 minutes may be granted.

Requests for the librarian's time in research must be made a day in advance. Time for research for each patron is left to the discretion of the librarian.

The common sense of the patron, and the librarian's discretion will determine what information is brought online. The use of chat rooms is not permitted to library patrons.

There will be a 20 cent charge for each print out page. Payment must be made in advance.

No accessories are permitted.

We are aware of U.S. copyright and obscenity laws and understand that Hedrick Public Library will accept no legal responsibility if a patron willingly violates federal and state laws.

There is no fee for the use of computers.

Patrons using a computer will not have any children in their care under 8 years of age. Children under 8 years of age in the library are to be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian over the age of 16 years. It is impossible to adequately monitor a child in the library while using a computer.

Wireless access is granted to any patron of Hedrick Public Library, however patrons must adhere to the above policies of the library.

This policy is subject to change.
